Thinking Outside the Inbox

Mail keeps incoming. Messages pile up, waiting to be processed. Beware the eye that no longer sees what it's looking at day in, day out.

Separating trivial communication from urgent correspondence should be simple. By creating one folder or one label ; by naming this item << Misc >> or << Maybe >> ; by moving there all unimportant messages, the Inbox becomes a distiller of vital affairs. Difficult to ignore serious business when only that kind meets the eye.

The same trick helps declutter the desktop, be it virtual or real. Compiling into one big box any secondary paperwork, any compulsory download helps control collectionning behavior. What is of no use now may never need attendance.

Too-much-to-do-too-little-time panic attacks could then be remedied by deleting the diminishing returns. Saving for later, then deleting forever. From oblivion to peace of mind.
