In a terminal, it might be helpful to be reminded that some commands have impact on the state of the machine. In a notepad, it might also be helpful : notes are better taken in complete sentences. There are some other contexts where this advice work well, no doubt.
In a text editor, the advice should be taken with a grain of salt. Some of us think when they are typing, and as soon as they stop writing, they start activities that are not directly related to thinking about their writing.
The surest way to think is and will always be to start writing.
